The original Barnet
East Barnet was a village long before New Barnet existed. Its parish church, St Mary the Virgin on Church Hill Road, dates back to the Norman period and is one of the oldest buildings in the borough. The shops of East Barnet Village sit just below it, and the whole area still has the feel of a small place rather than a suburb.
Oak Hill Park and the valley
Oak Hill Park and the Oak Hill Woods nature reserve run through the middle of the area, with Cat Hill climbing steeply up towards Cockfosters on one side. Our drivers know which roads back onto the park, so a pickup from a walk or a match on the pitches is easy to arrange.
School runs in East Barnet
With East Barnet School and several primaries nearby, weekday mornings are busy. We set up regular school runs with the same pickup time each day, and we're happy to add after-school clubs or collections from schools in New Barnet and Southgate.
No Tube of its own
East Barnet sits between railway lines rather than on one. The nearest stations are Cockfosters on the Piccadilly line and Oakleigh Park and New Barnet on the Great Northern. A short East Barnet cab to any of them is often quicker than a bus, especially in the rain. For airports, Stansted is a straightforward run via the M25, and London City is reached along the North Circular.
