Barnet's Hertfordshire neighbour
Potters Bar is in Hertfordshire, in the borough of Hertsmere, but it's only a few miles up the road from High Barnet and Hadley Wood. For many residents, Barnet is the nearest hospital, the nearest big high street and the start of London. A lot of our Potters Bar taxis run south across the county line and back.
Right by the M25
With junction 24 of the M25 on the edge of town and the A1(M) at South Mimms close by, Potters Bar is one of the best-placed places in our area for flying. Stansted and Luton are both usually under 45 minutes, and Heathrow is a direct run west round the M25.
Potters Bar station and Darkes Lane
Potters Bar station, on the Great Northern line, sits at the end of Darkes Lane, where most of the town's shops and restaurants are. We collect commuters from the station, shoppers from Darkes Lane and families from the estates around Oakmere Park. For long-distance trains, a car straight to King's Cross avoids changing with your bags.
